We love Christmas time. For us, it’s about surrounding yourself with the important people in your life and being able to spend time with friends and family. It is a time to say thanks to people in your life that have helped and supported you. Christmas is also the time of year for eating amazing food constantly.
We have both been through a crazy past year. Sam has been trying to manage another year of nutritional studies while still dealing with her newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes as well as moving away from her boyfriend to live back in Napier with family. Becs has been focusing on ways to improve her health and wellbeing post being diagnosed with anxiety and depression, taking a step back from the most stressful aspects of life through a change in lifestyle, following her passions and taking up employment opportunities that reinforce what she believes in.
The support from friends and family for both of us this year has been amazing whether it is supporting our study, our blog, our health journeys, or just being a good distraction when we need one. We couldn’t think of any better way to say thank you to everyone then putting on a Christmas Lunch for them all.
Friends and family joined us on a sunny Sunday afternoon to enjoy a gorgeous cheeseboard with bubbles and non-alcoholic cocktails followed by Dukkah baked salmon, salads and green veggies for the main and baked strawberries for dessert. The day was amazing and we couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend a sunny afternoon than with delicious, healthy food and great company.
Our followers and support we have through the blog have helped us grow and become stronger within our own health problems as well as encouraging others with similar problems to stay strong. You are not alone, we are always here to help and chat to whenever needed.
Thank you to everyone who has followed our journey this far and hopefully there will be plenty more to come.
Peace and love,
Sam and Becs
