Antioxidant Green Salad

This salad is full of everything to help the immune system; loads of leafy green veggies, full of antioxidants, and a wide range of flavours that our bodies need.

img_1192Antioxidants are needed in the body to remove free radicals that have occurred in our bodies. Free radicals act as bullies in your body, pushing around and taking over the healthy nice cells and turning them into bad cells. They are like the mean girls in high school trying to turn everyone against you. We are exposed to oxidative damage which causes free radicals all day from the food we eat to the environment we live in. Eating plenty of antioxidants
allows our body to slow down this process and tells those mean girls to go away.

Eating loads of fresh fruit and vegetables will give us plenty of antioxidants to stop this process from occurring especially including berries, pomegranate, goji berries, capsicums, olive oil and coconut oil.

This salad looks amazing and the perfect salad for summer as its super colourful and filled with fresh berries. It will make you want to eat it at the beach with a glass of rose.

Antioxidant Green Salad:

2 cups of rocket

1 cup of chopped strawberries

¼ cup of pomegranate seeds

Handful of sprouts chopped roughly

¾ of a cucumber finely diced

Handful of mint chopped roughly

Handful of Coriander chopped roughly

Handful of Parsley chopped roughly

Balsamic vinegar to taste

Add all ingredients together into a large bowl. Allow guests to pour own balsamic vinegar once served.
